Shakespeare's play is re-explored in a brisk style to shine a brighter light on the love story's eroticism and poetry. Beginning in Egypt with Antony and Cleopatra's alliance of love and political power, Antony goes back to Rome to shore up his position there by marrying the sister of Octavius Caesar. The lure of Cleopatra proves irresistable, and Antony returns to his "Egyptian Dish" again. The ire of Rome is ignited, leading to the final battle between the two kingdoms at Actium. Defeated, Antony and Cleopatra meet their deaths by their own hands, leaving a legacy of history intertwined with myth that has excited imagination for centuries.
